NO PLANS TO ARREST PROGRESS TOWARDS EXTRA BRIGG POLICE STATION CAR PARK

Brigg Town Council has raised no objections to planning permission being granted for an additional car park near the town centre.
It is being designated for Humberside Police land off Cary Lane, and the intention is to create access from the existing fenced off car park to the rear of the Barnard Avenue police station.
This will mean that vehicles going into, and leaving, the newly designated car park can avoid using Cary Lane.
The police station has seen an increase in personnel and visiting vehicles since its primary function altered some weeks ago.
Although not against the application, Coun Jane Kitching told Brigg Town Council's Planning & Environment Committee, meeting in the Angel Suite, that she wanted to ensure preservation of a large tree on the corner of the site, off Cary Lane.
North Lincolnshire Council planners must now decide whether to grant permission  for the secondary car park to serve the police station.
