ENTERTAINING SHOWS COMING TO BRIGG & DISTRICT

FROM NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL

The Livelincs spring season gets underway with some wonderfully entertaining shows from Rhubarb Theatre, and Hilary James and Simon Mayor in February and March.
The first show that Livelincs is bringing to a  village or town near you is a brilliant piece of children’s theatre from Rhubarb Theatre. ‘The Case of the Curious Suitcase’ is a show bursting with fun and visual fantasy. It is suitable for family audiences; children aged five and over, and their parents.
At a small rural train station three people arrive separately on the platform, waiting to get on the next train. Strangely, they all have the same suitcase. Time ticks by, the old Tannoy announces the train is delayed. The longer the three characters remain at the train station, the more they start to experience rather unusual events. Potty old porters, waitresses serving the world’s worst sandwiches and the never-ending lost and found department are just the start of the adventure.
As suitcases get muddled, you will find yourself immersed in a quest to discover who the three passengers are and what they are up to. Waiting for a train will never be the same again.
The Case of the Curious Suitcase is being shown at:
St Norbert’s Voluntary Academy in Crowle on Tuesday 24 February at 6pm. Call 01724 710249.

The next show from the Livelincs spring season is the ‘Tears of Laughter’ performed by Hilary James and Simon Mayor. It will appeal to all ages – from six to 106!
It will be an evening of musical magic and merriment as mandolin wizard Simon Mayor and silver-voiced songstress Hilary James giggle their way through an eye-watering collection of ancient and modern ditties. From folk farces to gems from Noel Coward, Vivian Ellis, Jake Thackray and a few more modern surprises.
The show also features some quirky instrumentals from the virtuosic duo, so fans of Simon Mayor’s world class mandolin mastery and Hilary’s monstrous mandobass won’t be disappointed either.

There is always a great turnout at Livelincs shows as they are renowned for being thoroughly entertaining and suitable for a range of ages and tastes. What makes it even better is that you don’t have to go far as the shows come to your local village or town.”
Livelincs is a rural touring programme of theatre, dance and music. It’s funded by Arts Council England and North Lincolnshire Council.
