BRIGG BEDTIME READING

The final item on the agenda of Brigg Town Council's Planning & Environment Committee meeting on Wednesday night in the Angel Suite was: Lincolnshire County Council Minerals & Local Waste Plan.
There was no discussion or debate. Brigg Town Council merely received notification of the Pre-Submission Core Strategy and Development Policies Consultation.
Town Clerk Jeanette Woollard advised town councillors they might feel this was an issue best left with North Lincolnshire Council.
(At least one person present in the room breathed a sigh of relief at this point!)
Statutory consultation on the Minerals & Waste Plan is now under way and continues until February 16.  If you want some essential bedtime reading, follow this link www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/mineralsandwaste
Why was Brigg Town Council informed of this? Because our town, in North Lincolnshire, borders "old" Lincolnshire (if we can call it that) and quarrying and similar activities could take place within a few miles of us.
