ANCHOLME HEAD ROWING RACE BRINGS CROWDS TO BRIGG

There was a big turnout in Brigg on Sunday for the Ancholme Head race on the River Ancholme.
It was organised by the Ancholme Rowing Club, based at the boathouse, off Manley Gardens.
Racing was in two divisions, in the morning and afternoon.
Entrants came not only from the Brigg area and North Lincolnshire but from clubs across Yorkshire and the Midlands.
Fours, pairs, doubles and singles raced 2,750m along the river.
The influx of visitors boosted trade for shops and eateries that opened their doors.

It was particularly busy in Bridge Street, along the towpath and on the County Bridge.
