GRIM BRIGG MILESTONE TO BE MARKED

The Friends of our Brigg railway line are planning to mark a grim milestone.
For on 1st October it will be 21 years to the day since the last weekday passenger service ran from Cleethorpes to Sheffield via Brigg, Kirton Lindsey and Gainsborough Central.
The Friends are planning publicity to accompany this sad event and Brigg Blog hopes to bring you more on what form that will take nearer the date.
For almost 21 years, Brigg has had to make do with a Saturdays-only service - for which we should feel some gratitude...at least our town is still on the rail network. But many people would love to trains running on other days. Or even more of them on Saturdays.
The Friends are working hard, as as others, to try and get things improved.
