MORE BRIGG PEOPLE URGED TO TRY HEALTH WALKS

Brickyard Lane, Wrawby, is a popular walking route for people from Brigg. At the far end it eventually connects with Grammar School Road.
In 2013 North Lincolnshire Council celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Walking the Way to Health scheme, which involves Brigg
It says that more than 10,000 such walks have been undertaken.
There was a fully-booked celebratory event last week at the Wortley Hotel, Scunthorpe,  for  walkers who had taken part in  Walking the Way to Health over the past year.
There's a choice of 100 different walking routes across North Lincolnshire and 56 trained volunteers on hand as leaders.
Walking the Way to Health is an initiative that aims to encourage you to walk in your own community. Being physically active on a regular basis can significantly improve your health and fitness. Walking is ideal for building exercise into your everyday life. It is also a perfect way to see the natural environment around you.
Everyone is welcome to take part in a range of "led walks" that are all free. There is no need to book, just turn up on the day and find one of the walk leaders.
Brigg Blog does its best to publicise these.
Coun Carl Sherwood, of Brigg, Cabinet Member for Customer Services, Sport and Leisure, said: “It is great that so many people are taking part in the Walking the Way to Health walks. Walking is the perfect way to keep fit and healthy, as you can discover North Lincolnshire whilst doing physical activity."
