NO CHRISTMAS HUMBUG IN BRIGG

There was no evidence of Mr Scrooge or Christmas Humbug when Brigg Town Council had to consider unexpected expenditure on the town centre illuminations.
Under the heading Christmas Lights Expenditure, they were asked to endorse the increased expenditure incurred due to the need for replacement and re-testing of a series of failed anchor bolts.
Councillors at Monday night's meeting in the Angel Suite gave their approval, Coun Mike Campion pointing out that people come from a very wide area to admire the Christmas decorations.
"This is something that's worth doing," he added.
QUICK REMINDER: The Christmas lights will be switched on, with due ceremony, from a stage in the Market Place at 5pm on Friday (November 29). Brigg District Lions' extensive Christmas Fayre, with many stalls, will then get into full swing. Most Brigg shops will also be staying open late for people to do their Christmas shopping.
