The hope that people will come from afar to spend a weekend in Brigg and enjoy our special events was muted at last night's annual general meeting of the Brigg Town Business Partnership, in the Buttercross.
The details have yet to be finalised and confirmed, but it's suggested there could be four or five large events in 2014, rather than trying to stage something smaller each month.
Late April: Fashion and Food Weekend.
Late May: Events in the town centre at the same time as the Ancholme River Festival.
Early June: Celebrations of Arts, including Dressing the (old water) Pumps.
Late August: 'Bigger and better' Briggstock musical event, with sponsorship.
Late October: Home and Harvest event
As we said, these are proposals. As events are confirmed, exact dates, times and details will be released. The aim is to get more people into the town, to the obvious benefit of businesses.
