GREAT NEWS FOR BRIGG TAKEAWAY LOVERS

HOW IT LOOKS TODAY: The flue now granted permission on the Diya Spice premises in Brigg

North Lincolnshire Council has finally granted planning permission for the retention of an extraction flue in its current position behind the Diya Spice Indian takeaway on Bigby Street in Brigg - subject to what we see as a sensible condition.
In granting consent, the council has stipulated that noise attenuation measures shall be fitted and maintained throughout the lifetime of the extraction system unless otherwise agreed in writing with the local planning authority because of "the amenity of surrounding residential properties."
This issue has dragged on for a long time - the silver flue being regarded as unsightly in the conservation area. But the current brown colour seems to blend in well enough.
It's great news because it's hard to imagine how a business like this could operate without such an important piece of equipment.
Can we call it another great British compromise? Yes, we should also declare an interest,  being something of a regular customer.

AS IT WAS: The silver flue behind the popular Brigg takeaway
