St Helen's Road in Brigg was still closed to through traffic this afternoon (Tuesday) following Sunday's water main burst that brought Anglian Water to the scene. Fair enough - these thing happen. After the underground issue had been sorted, the road surface still had to be re-established, and the utility company suggested this could take some days. Again, fair enough.
However, why have no signs been erected on Bigby Road - the A1084 - to warn approaching motorists? They have been driving halfway down a very long street, only to have to turn round and head back to the main road!
We note in Scunthorpe at the weekend that when there was a similar main burst in Church Lane someone was very quick to erect warning and diversion signs at the top of this street to warn motorists.
So why should Brigg be treated differently? Especially as "our" A1084 is a major road!
