£1,000+ RAISED FOR CHARITY THROUGH BRIGG FOOTBALL MATCH IN MEMORY OF 'H'

Snowy Richardson - Brigg Sugar Factory veteran player of a year or two ago - gets his hands on the coveted trophy after the 1-0 win.

During a break in proceedings at the latest Brigg Town Council meeting in the Angel Suite, Coun Andrew Markham came over and quietly disclosed that more than £1,000 had been raised for charity through a football match held at The Hawthorns - home of Brigg Town FC - and some ancillary fundraising.
What a great effort by all concerned!
Ken Harrison was among the spectators and kindly sent Brigg Blog some pictures of the event which was held to benefit Pancreatic Cancer UK.
The score didn't really matter, but Ken tells us it was Brigg Others 0, Brigg Sugar Beet Factory 1 - Coun Markham being the referee.
The game, as many of you will know, was in memory of Howard Stothard. Known to one and all as "H" he was a long-serving employee of the postal service and keen football supporter and sports follower.

Brigg Town Football Club chairman Kiron Brown (in the green and white kit) was one of the senior statesmen involved in the match, which was refereed by Coun Andrew Markham (blue top).
