DOES BRIGG HAVE SOMEONE WORTHY OF ROTARY YOUNG CITIZEN AWARD?

THE RIBI YOUNG CITIZEN AWARD
This is to celebrate the amazing achievements of inspiring young people across Great Britain and Ireland.
The Rotary International for Britain and Ireland, RIBI, Young Citizen Awards are in association with the BBC News Channel and they showcase and celebrate the positive citizenship and important responsibilities assumed by many young people from age 12 to 25.
RIBI Young Citizen Winners receive trophies and a cash prize of £500 at the RIBI National Conference where the awards are presented live on the BBC News Channel.
Later in the year the winners are invited to visit the BBC News TV studios in London and will also receive a tour of the Houses of Parliament.
Rotary is committed to helping young people develop life skills through our many youth opportunities and Brigg has been involved in these including Literacy Awards, Young Chef, Young Photographer, Youth Speaks, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, RYLA, etc.
Examples include:

• A 24 year old marine who lost his limbs in combat but ran the London Marathon
• An amazing young girl who is terminally ill but determined to help others, she was a teenager with a brain tumour who then suffered a stroke but has raised over £150,000 for brain tumour research
• A school group promoting the rights of children
• And a 19 year old Asian girl providing opportunities for ethnic minorities in her community to play sport and to a young man who is helping disabled youngsters to play sports.
