Well-known Brigg footballer Craig Benson is about to achieve a new goal in his life.
He has been bitten by the acting bug and is to make his debut in Broughton Dramatic Society's forthcoming production.
“When We Are Married” - a comedy by J B Priestly - will be staged at Broughton Village Hall on Friday, Saturday and Sunday - November 23, 24 and 25 (7:30pm).
Tickets costing £5 are available from Brigg Tourist Office (The Buttercross) or book by telephone on 07906 27270. They will also be available on the door on each night.
Craig told Brigg Blog: "I am making my acting debut, teaming up with my drama teacher from school, Nick Grafton, after first meeting him as an 11-year-old, 35 years ago! We have a large cast (13) for this play including both old and new faces."
Just a tiny thing, Scribs....isn't the group called the Broughton Amateur Dramatic Society - the BADS?
ReplyDelete....and while my brain hurts - a rather pedantic snippet...
I think Nick Grafton joined SJN in 1981....he had a duel role, as a drama teacher and as a housemaster in the boarding house.....so Benny would have been about 14/15ish when he first met NG.
Break a leg!, as they say.
A bit of a Freudian slip above, Scribs....
ReplyDeleteNG had a 'dual' role.....but perhaps, as a drama teacher for teenagers, 'duel role' would be highly appropriate!!
Nick Grafton started at SJN back in 1976 when SJN became SJN and Brigg Grammar School disappeared.
ReplyDeleteNick Grafton was spotted the other day at the National Theatre in London by an ex-SJN student of 20 years ago.
ReplyDeleteNick was on a theatre producer's course.
It just goes to show, even in the Smoke, you can't avoid the eye of ex-SJN pupils.
The theatre is appropriately near the London Eye !!!
