READ BETWEEN THE LINES TO FIND OUT BRIGG BUYER

It's only a few weeks since 7 Market Place - the prominent, listed building in Brigg town centre - was sold by North Lincolnshire Council.
Keen to make a sale, the authority gave a guide price on its own website when this property went on the market but then declined to make public how much the coffers had been swelled by the subsequent sale or  give the identity of the purchaser.
In terms of the price, Brigg Blog feels this belongs in the public domain; you may share our view, or even disagree.
You may feel differently about the council making known the new owners' identity. If so, we'd just like to point out that we passed 7 Market Place this morning and noted a neat metal plaque near the front door, bearing the name of a well-known Brigg firm sited not a million millimetres, never mind a million miles, from this former Georgian town house.
You can have a look at the plaque next time you are in the Market Place.

  1. Scribs - it doesn't take a Sherlock Holmes to establish the new ownership of 7, Market Place.....Weeks ago I asked the painters who were doing some work on the building for whom they were working......'Grimley Smith', was their response.

There is an old truism - if you want to know the workings of an establishment, don't ask the managers - ask the caretaker.

Contractors working on the Brown's old auction house confirmed that they had been contracted by Boyes days before the signs went up and an official annoucement was made.
