BRIGG SUPPORT FOR BROADBAND CHALLENGE

Brigg Town Council is responding to the broadband challenge showing the real need for online improvements across northern Lincolnshire.
Parish and town councils have been approached to help spread the word.
The more people and businesses that sign up, the more evidence there will be to persuade  commercial providers that there is a business case for faster broadband investment in North & North East Lincolnshire.
During the latest Parish Liaison meeting at the Civic Centre in Scunthorpe, Sally McDavid made a presentation and challenged each parish to get 100 residents and 10 businesses (no matter how large or small) to register interest in getting faster broadband.
North Lincolnshire Council and North East Lincolnshire Council have joined forces to secure £2.62m in government funding in order to "incentivise" commercial broadband suppliers to invest in our Northern Lincolnshire rural areas.
This project is called the South Humber Broadband programme.
The target is to get 100 per cent of the South Humber area onto broadband and at least 90 per cent of the population receiving superfast broadband (>25 Mb/s) by March 2015.

If broadband is important to you personally or for business, please spend a few minutes completing one of our surveys to help bring superfast broadband to North Lincolnshire.
