The recycling centre at Tesco became very overloaded during the recent bank holiday, resulting in us (and we are sure many others) having to take our items back home for later disposal.
Brigg Blog has pointed out the same issue before (notably Christmas a couple of years ago). It's great that the retail giant plays host to the recycling containers on its car park. However, surely a bit of thought would have suggested increased demand from the Royal Wedding/bank holiday, when people were at home consuming more goods. Or it could be those who should have undertaken the emptying were the ones who might have thought a bit more out of the box.
We'll probably never know the answer but can only hope that someone in authority might consider the situation when the next bank holiday comes along.
.......OR create a few more recycling bin sites about Brigg and district....preferably near, or in car parks...each with a map of alternative recycling locations....
ReplyDeleteOr as they do in Cambridge - have solar powered crushing recycling bins..same capacity, but crushing tins and plastic allows more space; reduces frequency of collections....and is a win-win device
