Brigg football star Matt Sparrow is among the front-runners in a poll to find Scunthorpe United's top player of all time.
Visitors to the Scunthorpe United exhibition at North Lincolnshire Museum are being encouraged to vote for their most memorable Iron star.
Almost 3,000 people visited the museum in April, the highest monthly figure in years and an increase of nearly 600 on April 2010.
Our Sporting Life: A Celebration of Scunthorpe United opened on April 5 at the museum in Oswald Road, Scunthorpe.
The unique exhibition revels in the success of local football heroes and tells the history of The Iron through object displays and stories told by fans from across North Lincolnshire.
Scunthorpe United fans and the football club have loaned many important pieces and photos for this major exhibition.
People were invited to loan their own pieces of football history for display in the exhibition and this memorabilia reveals personal stories about the club and what it means to the wider community.
Visitors have been voting for their favourite players since the exhibition opened.
So far Alex Calvo Garcia and Gary Hooper are leading the way.
Other popular players people have voted for in numbers include Kevin Keegan, Billy Sharp, Joe Murphy and Matt Sparrow - a former pupil of Sir John Nelthorpe School and Brigg resident.
The long-serving Matt - scorer of many important goals - has now left the Iron and joined Brighton.
North Lincolnshire Museum will stay open until 8pm on June 6, 13 and 20 to give even more people the opportunity to see the exhibition.
Scunthorpe United author John Staff will be running a free history talk on June 20. Please contact the museum to book a seat.
The exhibition runs until January 8, 2012. For more details call 01724 843533 or E-mail museum@northlincs.gov.uk
