Strong winds last week detached this branch from the tree alongside Brigg police station, in Cary Lane. Something of a lucky tree, it was going to be felled under expansion plans for Brigg’s “cop shop” which were put on hold. The end of an era - quite possibly the last picture of Tom Glossop in a Brigg Town Council setting. Tom (right) retired this month after 32 years on the authority (deciding not to stand in the recent election), but he attended the council's annual meeting in the Angel Suite, as a member of the public. We took this picture of him with new Town Mayor Coun John Kitwood at the very end of the social get-together which followed the Mayormaking ceremony.

Brigg Bandstand has been repainted this week. And very nice it looks, too.

A stretch of the A1084 near Brigg Garden Centre, on the approaches to the town, should be considered for a lower speed limit, a Brigg town councillor has suggested.

We spotted this sign on Thursday morning outside estate agent Lovelle’s premises in Wrawby Street. It’s promoting Keigar’s new three-bedroom show home - open for house-hunters to view off Glebe Road, where the primary school once stood.
