Brigg voters will go to the polls on Thursday, May 5 to elect a new Town Council.
This is because 20 candidates have come forward for the 19 seats.
The Town Council election will be held at the same time as the North Lincolnshire unitary election for the Brigg and Wolds Ward and the Government’s Referendum on the voting system.

Since both Carl Sherwood and Rob Waltham are also standing for NLC as Conservative Candidates, shouldn't they have declared their political allegiance on their application....or it is optional?
ReplyDeleteI thought they should declare their party allegiance Ken.
ReplyDeleteObviously not , it may be intersting to see on the ballot papers if a party is highlighted.
There is NO requirement to declare political affiliation. Ted Appleyard, the extremly long-serving Barton councillor, used to put himself down as "Number One for Everyone" on his nomination form. In my long experience of Brigg Town Council (well over 30 years) it has never been bogged down by party political bickering or points-scoring. HERE ENDETH THE LESSON!
