OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND!

There may well be a lot less "dog muck" about on Brigg's footpaths and grass verges these days, but why do so many of those who clean up after their pets have to put the resulting "material" in see-through or very lightly coloured plastic bags? Not a pretty sight! Especially as some of them carry it all the way home for disposal if they can't find a doggie bin nearby.
Using dark-coloured bags to hide the contents shouldn't prove too difficult.
If we can have well-intentioned by-laws relating to dog-fouling and keeping pets under control, how about extending it one stage to include a stipulation that "doggie do" should not be on view during "walkies" sessions in public places?
We aren't advocating more council staff to enforce this addition, who would then be dubbed "The Poo Police" in the national press. No, we don't want it to be seen as a case of jobbies for the boys!
We are just suggesting you should be able to walk Brigg streets, munching a bag of chips, without having your appetite ruined by the sight of an approaching pet owner, dog at heel, swinging a see-through bag weighed down by certain unsavoury objects at the bottom, so to speak.
