WELL, I'LL BE BLOWED?

Alec Depledge has drawn our attention to this well-known feature, with the comment: "Is this the original Vuvuzela, do you reckon?"
Expect another big turn-out in Brigg pubs tomorrow for England's next game in the World Cup. Some of the other "big teams" have done no better than we did, or even worse, in their opening fixtures.

  1. Good, amusing, local connection, AD.

I've noticed various spellings for the vuvuzela - sometimes, 'fufuzela' and etc. It appears that the media have settled on the former.

For interest, there is a tangible connection between the vuvuzela and the church. The African Nazareth Baptist Church claimed that the horn was a religious symbol and threatened legal action to stop vuvuzelas being used during the World Cup.

Having heard the noise that the vuvuzela makes, perhaps the Angel's horm symbolises the drone of NLC council meetings!!!!

Anyway, any chance of rigging up an air pump to the Angel....it's vuvuzela could be used to cheer the wheelbarrow racers........and used at other times to clear the Market Place of miscreant scallies!!!! Heavenly!!

  2. A friend of mine in Jerusalem has taken exception to my suggestion, reminding me that the first vuvuzelas were used by Joshua at the battle of Jericho....

  3. But can someone explain to me....according to Joshua, God advised the Isrealite army to march around Jericho's walls blowing trumpets.....when the walls fell down, the Isrealites marched in and slaughtered every man, woman and child.....of God's compassion.
