WHO YOU GONNA CALL?

A few weeks ago, during the particularly bad weather, Brigg Blog reported sighting what appeared to be the Ghostbusters runabout, parked near Riverside Surgery, off Barnard Avenue. You may recall we drove down to the Monument in a queue of traffic and came back along the A18, only to find it had been spirited away before we could take a closer look. Well, we are pleased to say it's been spotted again, and that a couple of our kind supporters have combined to bring living proof, just in case some of you doubted our original story. For those who might not know, Ghostbusters is a very successful comedy film about a team of odd-ball types in New York who save their city from being taken over by bad spirits. The catchy theme tune by Ray Parker Jnr currently features in TV adverts for a telephone directory firm.

  1. Saw is yesterday, Nige. It was parked nearer to the surgery entrance than in the photo.
The rumour has it the owner went to get some methylated spirits!!

    True Story:
Talking about methylated spirits; had need to get some to clean the inside of car's windscreen before re-sticking the rear view mirror -the sticky, bonding patch adheres better.
Went to a chemists (not local, in the Sheffield area,I might add) and asked for methylated spirits.
Young assistant, 'What, what's methy-flated spirits.'
'M-e-t-h-y-l-a-t-e-d Spirits - can be used for cleaning wounds and for sterilising things.'
'Never heard it of it. Do you need to see the pharmacist? He's out at the moment'
'No. It usually comes as a light blue, clear liquid with a distinctive smell - often in a clear glass bottle. It's inflammable.'
    'Eh!'
'It can also be used as a fuel in a simple camping stove and for dissolving glue.'
'Oh, you probably mean petrol. Have you tried the garage?'

Went to the local Homebase and got a bottle off the shelf for £2.49 and the till girl didn't ask me questions!!
