FAREWELL TO RON
Today sees the funeral service for well-known Brigg man Ron Morris, who died aged 92.
It is being held at Woodlands Crematorium, Scunthorpe, at 1pm.
Ron was married to former town councillor Barbara Morris, living in King's Avenue for many years. He supported his wife very well during her time as Town Mayor, in 1998.
Older Brigg Blog readers will remember the famous Morris family chip shop in Wrawby Street, illustrated here by ex-Brigg man Stephen Hill, who contributes to the Scunthorpe Telegraph's Nostalgia magazines.
I spoke to Mrs Morris in Tesco's the other day (Wed)... I don't know...sorry.
ReplyDeleteRe the picture and the like....told my chiropodist, Mrs Roberts, last month, that her dad's picture ((Stan ?xxxxxx, a cobbler (and later a Red X ?commandant)) was on show in Grandad's Shed. She didn't know and the next day, when I went for a coofee in the Loft, I was informed that a lady of Mrs Robert's decription had bought the picture the following day.
In Grandad's Shed, there are still a number of pictures of local folk, but it has now been extened to include local pubs ---Black Bull, Brock Ox ...etc.
Why hasn't the Loft been included in the final Best Small Restaurant nominations....disgusting!
I'm a very poor proof reader:
ReplyDelete'don't' should read 'didn't'
'coofee' should read ' coffee'
'decription' should read 'description' and 'extened' should read 'extended'....corrected by Len
