LATE SPRING AND SUMMER BRIGG CROWD-PLEASERS CANCELLED OR POSTPONED

Two forthcoming major events in Brigg - due to attract many participants and spectators - have been cancelled amid the Coronavirus emergency restrictions on communal gatherings.
The well-established, colourful and floral Festival of the Pumps ceremony in the town centre is off. And so is the new Summer Fair, with various attractions, planned for July.
Last year's garlanding of the surviving cast iron public water supply pumps on Grammar School Road and Bridge Street took place on Saturday, May 18, 2019.
Ken Harrison's picture, seen above, shows Freeman of Brigg, Chris Darlington, leading the parade along Wrawby Street.
Another casualty of Covid-19 lockdown is May's Border Motor Club Classic Car Run, due to start from the Market Place.
However, the organisers are hoping they may be able to re-organise this event for a date later in the year.
