Could Brigg pubs and takeaways be in for an unexpected boost in takings this weekend?
Over many years, football fans from various clubs in Yorkshire and the Midlands have chosen to stop off in Brigg on the way to cheering on their teams.
This Saturday (August 10) Bradford City are playing at Grimsby Town. Will many fans of the Bantams decide to break their journey in Brigg en route to Blundell Park?
Kick off has been brought forward to 1pm at the police's request. But that still leaves them plenty of time for a snack and a pint or two.
Bradford's home game at the weekend was watched by well over 14,000 - a huge crowd for Division Two.
Over the years we've been visited by fans of Aston Villa, Barnsley, Nottingham Forest, Notts County and Leeds United, to name but a few.
Back in the early 1980s, there was something of an invasion from Leeds, with the Black Bull attracting most custom one sunny Saturday lunchtime in August.
There was no disorder but many glasses failed to find their way back to the bar from the beer garden at the rear of the premises.
The Woolpack proved popular with Aston Villa fans on their way to Hull City a few years ago. Our pictures recall one of these occasions and remind us that an influx of visiting supporters will also benefit Brigg's fast food outlets and shops that stock sandwiches, sausage rolls and pies.
