Ken Harrison, of Brigg Matters Magazine, took these fine pictures at the Christmas lights switch-on ceremony, District Lions' Fair and late night shopping evening on Friday, November 30, 2018. He has very kindly shared them with Brigg Blog.
They show Scunthorpe pantomime stars, including Annie Fanny, who entertained the sizeable crowd before the illuminations came on, local school choristers, staff from Brigg businesses, Santa and people of all ages who enjoyed this major spectator event.

Just to clarify, Nige....the so-called next publication of Brigg Matters, Winter issue, is out now.....some of the Crimbo snaps will appear in the Spring edition.
I would like to add that it takes about 4 weeks to finally edit, compile, despatch to the printers and then count-out and primary distribute BM to pur valiant team of house-to-house deliverers.
We are all unpaid volunteers, keen to promote Brigg and it's community of local villages....and because of the team's commitment, BM has become a very professional-looking magazine.
We have a 5000 print-off with Brigg, Wrawby, Cadney and Howsham having house/business to house coverage.
Batches of Brigg Matters are left in the TIC, Tesco and Brigg Garden Centre a week, or so after the routine deliveries have been complete, for folks who visit Brigg, but do not receive a house-to-house copy.
The quality and contents of the magazine depends on individuals and groups alerting the BM team of events and/or submitting interesting articles. (Folks shouldn't worry if their writing skills are a little weak...it's the contents that counts and grammar/and spelling can be improved with our editing process.)
BM is a self-financing magazine; our adverts (very reasonable rates) support its publication.
Finally, my I take this opportunity to wish all our team - the committee (each has a significant role) and our army of house-to-house deliverers, as well as BM 's readers a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2019.
