NEW BUNTING WILL DECORATE BRIGG TOWN CENTRE

Brigg Town Council is buying new bunting to adorn streets in the town centre.
The authority is looking to string up 500m - an increase of 60m on the previous bunting which has seen better days and needs replacing.
Coun Chris Dyson  told the latest Town Council meeting in the Angel Suite he had obtained samples and quotes from a number of suppliers.
He suggested some of the new bunting should be used on the stretch of the Market Place from the Buttercross to the junction with Elwes Street and Bigby Street, which has seen new business ventures established.

Coun Ann Eardley stressed the bunting needed to be strong.
The aim is to get  the new decorative strands in place before the Royal Wedding on Saturday, May 19.
With this in mind, Coun James Truepenny successfully suggested that the purchase should be delegated to a small group of councillors.

Brigg Town Business Partnership may assist with the cost involved in putting up and taking down the bunting.
